Banquet details
The banquet is going to be Monday, November 28th at 7:00 pm. We will be in the lower commons and it would be best to park in the teacher and staff parking lot. Plan on eating dinner before you come as we will be doing desserts. If everyone could bring a dessert to pass that would be great!

Middle School Meet Success & State Schedule
Thank you for helping with the Middle School meet:
Thank you to all who came out to help work and support the middle school meet. We had a lot of people there and I think this will make a huge impact as some of these kids get ready to make a decision about swimming in high school. We also raised some money from selling concessions to add to the team fund (thank you to everyone for making donations). Girls who are headed to State:
Monday- 6:00-7:30
Tuesday- 6:00-7:30
Wednesday- 6:00-7:30
Thursday- 2:30-3:30 (we have to practice before Calvin and I will talk with school about being let out at 2:00)
*I will send the girls home tonight with a schedule for the state weekend. We plan on leaving Calvin around 4:30, if parents would like to bring luggage or send a farewell between 4:15-4:30 that would be great!
Go Eagles!

Lady Eagles Fund Raising Opportunity
Great Job at conference to all the swimmers and divers, what a fun meet!
Monday: If you are not going to state please come to Ottawa Hills High School @ 6:00 to meet the middle school swimmers. We are going to teach them cheers and help with turns/starts/ etc.
Lady Eagles Fund Raising Opportunity
Next week Saturday we will be providing concessions for the Middle School swim meet held at Ottawa Hills. We need parent help/support in two ways to make this happen. First, we need some help with selling- this can either be parents or swimmers. Second, donations of concessions or money would be great to give us a little boost- otherwise I will have to take money from the team fund to buy supplies. Below is a SPECIFIC list of items to donate- or I will buy before the meet. Please stick to this list- it is easier for pricing/selling if we have consistent products.
Gatorade- either small or medium- often sold in eight packs. We don't need the huge single bottles- any flavor
Propel Zero- multi-pack size - any flavor
Pop in cans- doesn't really matter what kind, but last year we sold out of Diet Coke
Fruit- apples, bananas, oranges
Individual size snacks- goldfish, ritz bits, granola bars, that sort of thing (Trying to stay away from chips)
Power bars of any kind
Donuts- I think I will just go out and buy these that morning
Juice- in small bottles, not boxes or pouches- apple juice, orange juice, etc
We might do some candy, though I was trying to stay away from that if we can. First of all, because I am trying to have stuff a little more healthy for the kids who are swimming, second, because it is SO HOT in there that chocolate, etc is not always a good fit.
Time frame is probably from about 8:30- 12:00. Perhaps a bit longer on both ends. We could also really use coolers and ice.
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! Thanks!

Meals for home swim meets
MEALS UPDATES
THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has provided the food for our past two meals. The girls appreciate it so much! I have made a few changes to the remaining meals, so please check your assignments again. On the right hand side of the website is a tab for Food Assignments for meets. Please click on that and you will see the updated documents. Most of the changes have been to the amount of chocolate and white milk we provide. ( Chocolate has been a favorite) We definitely had more food tonight than we thought we needed, but it is always better to be able to feed more than not have enough. ( A few families may be having chili this week!) In addition, East usually has a large team and plenty of coaches. Next week we will also move to the NEW ROOM to eat. This room is located on the West side down the hallway, before the racquetball court. It is much larger and will hold everyone very well! Thanks again for all the help making meals a success! Go Eagles!

Time listed was 6:30 pm, but we have had a recent request to come at 6 if possible (right after the Eagle Walk). Thank for all of your help! This is not only a great fund raiser for Eagle Athletics, but also a great way to meet other parents that you may be sitting with in the stands!
Meet Food:
Thanks for all of the help both serving and bringing food last night for our hungry swimmers and coaches! Everyone was well-fed! The food sign ups will be updated in a few days, so please check to see if you can fill an open spot or are willing to help with the set up/ service/ clean up. Email Jennschroder@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer!
Duck Drop/ Chuck a Duck:
What a great success on our first night! We raised $70! If you have anything that you would be willing to donate or can get a business to donate for prizes, that would be fantastic (current prizes available- "C" stadium cushion, Jet's pizza certificates, Eagles Nest Shirts, Sports keychains, Lake is Good Shirts). We hope to sell even more ducks and award more prizes next time. This will be held at EVERY home swim meet this year. Thanks for all of the support!

A note about meals for home swim meets
Greetings parents of swimmers and divers!
As part of the meet tradition, teams meet for a meal after each meet. The home team coordinates and provides these meals. We have four home meets to provide meals for this year. Many of you signed up at the Holland Christian meet already. If so, this is a reminder for you. If you have not signed up, please send and email to jennschroder@gmail.com to fill in somewhere. Please sign up for at least THREE spots. Each meal has a team mom as coordinator, but if you would be willing to help set up/serve/clean up on a night, that would be great. You may also send an email about that.
Some tips about bringing in food:
Meals are served in the classroom just outside of the pool entrances. (Between the bathrooms, facing the old gym)
Typically, things are brought in at the beginning of the meet, but if not then, at least by the end of diving.
Coolers are not provided, please bring milk/drinks in coolers if possible.
Serving utensils are also not provided. If you have something that needs utensils, please bring those as well.
Please label anything that is not disposable.
If you are doing the baked potato meal, parents from the past have discovered that baking the potatoes, wrapping them in foil, and placing them in coolers actually works very well to keep them hot.
Thanks for all your help! The girls have had a great start to the season. Thanks coaches, and GO EAGLES!
The list of meals and who has signed up will be up on the right hand side panel shortly!

How to Print Documents
Some folks have had trouble printing top times lists and other documents on our website. Here's the trick: Once you click on the link to the document, you'll see a Google docs page that shows the document. To print it, DON'T use your web browser's print function. Instead, use the File/Print option beneath the Google docs logo. Please let the webmaster know if you cannot open a document or if you're still having trouble printing it.

A Letter from Coach Becky
Swimmers & Parents,
It is with much sadness that I have to tell everyone I will not be coaching the girl’s swim team next year. This has been a very difficult and emotional decision for me to come to, but one that I am confident in and at peace with.
Coaching for me has always been one of my greatest passions and joys. To be able to take my experience of swimming in high school and college, and be on the “other side” of the gutter has been exciting yet challenging. My two years at GR Christian High has been an amazing experience. Everything from the athletic staff at the High school, supportive parents helping when needed, great coaching assistants, and energetic swimmers, have all contributed to a great two years.
The hardest part of saying goodbye, however, is not the parents, AD’s, or even the free food after meals. The hardest part for me is saying goodbye to “my girls”. I refer to “my girls” so often. Luke and I are not parents yet, but during the swim season I feel like I have 26 teenage girls of my own. I will truly miss their laughter, hard work, smiles, cheering them on from the sides, and watching them accomplish things that they never thought they could!
But, I have reached a point in my life where I need to focus on my own family. And while having 26 teenage girls is sometimes fun, it is probably not realistic. For four years Luke and I have tried to balance the many tasks in our lives of both working full time and coaching full time (and adding a puppy into the mix, whose idea was that?!). We have missed meals and time together, said no to obligations at our church, been absent at family functions, and so forth. We are ready to spend more time together as a family, explore new avenues of church and community involvement, focus on our careers as a teacher and salesmen, and simply enjoy some free time!
As I said, this was NOT an easy decision. I am not exactly sure how I will feel when August roles around and I am not on the pool deck with “my girls”. But, we have prayed over this decision and are trusting that God will continue to provide direction and peace in our lives as wait and see where He leads us next. I love the Bible verse “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT). God is good and faithful. He has been good to me; He has been good to this team. I know that His faithfulness will continue in the coming seasons and years, as coaches and swimmers change.
So THANK YOU! Thank you for your support, friendship, and allowing me to be able to work alongside you all. This is not good bye for good. You will always be “my girls”, and you never know when I may just show up in the stands or on deck to do the roller coaster cheer!
In Him and His time,
Coach Becky Bagnall
